Tariq Marikar has 30 years of experience in Telecommunications, Electronic Commercial Banking and Manufacturing. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Systems Engineering at the Imperial College of Science Technology and Medicine of the University of London in the United Kingdom. He is also a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) of the Project Management Institute (USA). He was the Chief Information Officer of a Swedish telco in Sri Lanka and then the Senior General Manager of Strategic Data Center Program for Dialog Axiata, another major telco in SriLanka and then upon the request of the Government of Sri Lanka, was appointed to lead the Government Data Center program to build and operate Tier 3 data centers. He was the Government Principal Data Center Consultant who wrote the RFI and RFP and engaged 33 vendors to commission their strategic data center from the ground up.
On the Canadian side, he has been the Senior Manager of Automation for the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce , and just prior to joining Legacy Health has been the Security and Privacy Technology Program Lead of Online Business Banking for another major Canadian bank, the Bank of Montreal via Virtusa, a North American Technology Integrator in the BFSI space.
